| Adam Lumpkin was born somewhere in North or South Carolina
in 1805 and migrated to Athan, Alabama (Limestone County) where he met a wonderful lady and they jumped the broom (got married).
In 1850 Adam and his Bride were blessed with a son whom they named after Adam. Adam, the son, moved to southern
Tennessee for a while and finally migrated to Madison county Mississippi. There he
met and married Susie Brown who was born in 1842. They had
four children Esther, Liddie, Willie and General. General the second oldest of the four was born in 1877. He
met and married
Mattie Bennett, who was born in 1873 (The daughter of Ed and Elvira Bennett). In 1898 they were blessed with "Johnny" the first
of their six children. By 1909 General and Mattie had been blessed with three boy and three girls (Johnny, Susie, Lillie, Robert,
